Trainee Gardener – 2 years
This position requires enrolment and study in Certificate III in Horticulture.
The Trainee position reports directly to the Team Leader – Parks and Gardens, is based in the Development and Environmental Services Department and will be required to develop skills and knowledge in Horticulture to be able to ensure clean and tidy parks and garden areas, identify and carry out general gardening, landscape maintenance and improvement works, tree planting and pruning, irrigation system construction and maintenance, lawn mowing and edging ensuring that Council’s open spaces including parks, gardens, trees and reserves are well maintained.
To be considered for this position, candidates must hold a current class C, P1 or P2 drivers licence and have completed school studies to NSW Record of School Achievement (RoSA) level or equivalent (year 10 School Certificate) to be eligible for tertiary enrolment.
- Remuneration at Grade 3 of Council’s salary system (T3: $602.68 per week to T10: $972.4 / week) depending on qualifications and experience
- Adverse Working Conditions Allowance currently $15.00/week
- 9.5% superannuation
- 38 hours per week
- 9 day fortnight
- 4 weeks’ annual leave
