CHRISTMAS LIGHTS AND RURAL MAILBOX COMPETITIONS
Entries for the Bogan Shire Christmas Lights and Rural Mailbox competitions close tomorrow, COB Friday 9 December.
Forms are available at the Council administration building, 81 Cobar Street Nyngan, The Bogan Shire Library and online at www.bogan.nsw.gov.au.
Once again, we have a special category, sponsored by the Bexon family, for the best nativity scene.
Our Christmas Lights sponsors include AGL, Aeris Resources and Nyngan Toyota, and Nutrien Ag Solutions is sponsoring the rural mailbox competition.
Entrants should ensure their displays are operating (lights are on) on Monday 12 December from 8pm for judging.
YOUTH AND COMMUNITY CENTRE
The Bogan Shire Youth and Community Centre has after school drop-in sessions for 12-18 year-olds three afternoons a week from 3pm-6pm.

EARLY LEARNING CENTRE
The ELC will be closed 21 December 2022 and reopening 9 January 2023.
NYNGAN WAR MEMORIAL POOL
The December opening hours are 6.30am-8.00am and 11.00am-8.00pm. Season tickets are $215 a family and $110 a single. Individual entry is $3, or $1 for those aged two and under.
SEWER MAIN CLEANING
Council is currently undertaking cleaning and condition assessment of the sewer reticulation system in Nyngan. Residents may experience minor interruptions to household sewage systems, such as short-term blockages and noises coming from the drains. If residents experience any problems or have any questions, please contact Trevor Waterhouse, Works and Services Manager ph: 0409 078 762.
RATES AND WATER
Water notices were due for payment on 31 October. The second instalment notice for rates has been issued and they were due for payment on 30 November.
Please contact Council as soon as possible if you are having difficulties with payments so arrangements may be made.
If ratepayers do not make arrangements, they may be referred to a debt recovery agent and further fees and charges will be incurred. All overdue payments also incur an interest charge of six per cent, calculated daily.
Council may also install flow restrictors to water meters for ratepayers with overdue water accounts who have not made payment arrangements.
Payments can be made by cash, cheque and eftpos at Council between 8.00am and 4.00pm Monday to Friday; or by bpay, direct debit, credit card, and deductions from Centrelink. Please contact Council if you wish to learn more about payment options.
RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE TOY AND BOOK DONATIONS
The Ronald McDonald House Charities Central West NSW Foundation supports rural and regional families from Western NSW Health District providing accommodation and support to children and families undergoing medical treatment in Orange NSW.
Bogan Shire Library will be the collection point for toy and book donations for Ronald McDonald House Charities Central West Orange NSW.
These donations will be Christmas gifts for the children staying over the Christmas period at the house. Donations of new toys for both boys and girls between the ages 14-17 years are required. In addition, new books for both boys and girls between the ages 10-12 years and 13-15 years are needed most. They are also in need of mindfulness colouring books and packets of UNO Cards. If you would like to donate please take your donation items to the Bogan Shire Library before the Friday 16 December.

The next ordinary meeting of Council will be held on Thursday 15 December 2022 commencing at 8.30am.
