The Three Rivers Machinery 34th Nyngan Ag Expo will take place this weekend Saturday the 1st August 2026, at the Nyngan Showground. Thousands are expected to flock to Nyngan, the gates will open at 9am with lots of exhibits on display, from farm machinery, finance, Show and Shine, food and wine, fashion, dog trials, sports shear, arts and crafts, live music, kids’ activities and last but not least the Vintage and Modified Tractor Pull.

Council will be carrying out construction work to replace culverts on Mitchell Highway between Nyngan and the saleyards (from approximately 500 metres from the Barrier Highway turn-off and continuing for the next 5km towards Girilambone). This work will take approximately 10 weeks and road users should expect short delays, with traffic lights in operation.

The NSW Government has introduced significant Planning reforms aimed at increasing housing supply, improving the efficiency of development assessment processes and reducing significant delays. The reforms introduced include new statutory assessment timeframes, improving development assessment and providing standard development conditions of consent. As Councils in NSW have a significant role in development approval, this will affect the way Council assesses Development Applications (DA’s) moving forward. Lives Lived Well runs a Program called Roadmaps which is a free and voluntary program that runs for one day a week for six weeks, with their assessments commencing 5th August, then weekly sessions from 12 August with a follow up. They provide rehabilitation support which includes individual and group counselling, information and referrals to other support services.
