Materials and information not available at the library can be accessed through the Document Delivery Service of the State Library of New South Wales. You also have partnerships with TAFE Libraries and Charles Sturt University Libraries which we are able to access information and materials.
Desktop computers with an extensive range of software packages and internet access are available for use by library members and visitors. Access to a Colour Photocopier/Printer/Scanner is also available. Printouts are charged at 30c for A4 Black/white and $1.00 for colour A4. IBM Compatible.
Free Public Internet access and free Wifi is available at the library. This facility is available to members and visitors. Prior booking is recommended. IPADS are available for young adults and Children to use in the Library.
Borrowers have access to all lending material throughout the region. We will hold an item at your request and notify you when it is available.
This service is available to local residents who are unable to visit the library due to health reasons. This service is not only for the elderly, but also for anyone who is unable to visit the library short term or long term. Delivery of house bound's takes place fortnightly or as required on Wednesday mornings.
Bulk loans are available to aged homes, hospital and schools.
Staff select from a special collection of "Talking books" for those who cannot select for themselves due to vision disability.
Storytime sessions - This is a programme for pre-schoolers and are conducted fortnightly Tuesday to Wednesday mornings during the school terms, at 10.30am for children aged birth to school age. Activities can include story telling, craft and morning tea.
Holiday Activities - Activities available when staffing permits. Summer Reading Programme held during summer holiday break.
Children's Book Week - Library displays Award Books and encourages schools to visit.
Simultaneous Storytime - Bogan Library participates in this national event each year in May.
Membership is open to all permanent residents of the region free of charge. You simply need to complete an application form at the Library and provide current official identification with your name and address. A parent / guardian is required to sign on behalf of patrons under 16 years of age. A membership card is given to each borrower on joining. This card must be presented for each transaction.
For those who are residing or taking holidays in the area for a short time, temporary membership is available for the duration of your stay. If you have your home library card with you, please bring it in when you come to join the library.

If you lose your card a $2.00 service fee is charged for replacement. NB. lost or stolen cards should be reported immediately.

An online public access computer catalogue of the Library's stock is available at the library. Our online catalogue can also be accessed via the internet at: http://nwls.spydus.com. The loan period is 7 days for DVDs and all other items are a 21 day period.
New and Visitor members are permitted to borrow 5 items which includes 1 (one) DVD. Regular borrowers are permitted to borrow a maximum of 15 items on your card at any one time. This can be a combination of any items for loan, which includes only 2 (two) DVD's and 2 (two) CD's.
At the present time, overdue items incur overdue charges. Fines are calculated at $1.00 per day per item. To avoid being charged overdue fees, contact the library before or on the due date for an extension. (Items that are on reserve cannot be renewed). Any library material lost or damaged must be paid for by the borrower.
If you cannot return items during opening hours, a book return is available adjacent to the front doors for your convenience.
Yes, in most cases you may renew your items for another load period. There is a maximum of two (2) loan periods. The second loan period will only be allowed if there are no reserves on the item. Items can be renewed by:
