Pound

Bogan Shire Council’s Pound is located on Canonba Road, Nyngan and operates by appointment only. The pound does not have set opening hours.

If your animal has been impounded, please contact Bogan Shire Council on (02) 6835 9000 or the Council Ranger on 0428 607 407 to arrange a suitable time for payment of applicable fees and the release of your animal.

Before any impounded animal can be released, it must be microchipped and registered in accordance with NSW legislation. Council staff can provide advice on registration requirements and assist with the process where required.

Owners are encouraged to ensure their pets are correctly identified and registered at all times to help prevent impoundment and to allow for quicker reunification if an animal is found wandering.
