Pools & Parks
Bogan Shire provides well‑maintained pools and parks that support active, family‑friendly recreation across the region. Local facilities offer opportunities for swimming, exercise, community gatherings, and outdoor leisure, while shaded play areas, open green spaces, and landscaped reserves contribute to safe and accessible environments for residents and visitors. These amenities reflect Council’s commitment to providing quality public spaces that promote wellbeing and community connection.
Nyngan & District War Memorial Swimming Pool
Nyngan's swimming pool is the place to be during the hotter months of the year with its water slide, splash park, 50m swimming pool, children's pool, half basketball court, BBQ facilities, picnic tables, and plenty of seating and shade shelters.
Hot and cold food is also available from the kiosk.
The pool is open from October to April each year.

Heritage & Flood Memorial Park
Heritage Park, leading to Flood Memorial
Park, was established on the corner of
Nymagee and Mitchell Streets at the main
entrance to town with the official opening
conducted by Rear Admiral Peter Sinclair on
8 June 2013. Members of Nyngan community
organisations, along with children from local
schools helped Bogan Shire councillors and
staff to formally plant the trees lining the
main pathway at Heritage Park.

Heritage Park Aboriginal Garden
This Heritage Park Aboriginal Garden
acknowledges the First Nations peoples
as the original custodians of the land.
The design elements of the park
include three circles representing the
Wangaaypuwan (Wongaibon), Ngiampaa
and Wayilwan nations.

Jack Hargreaves Park
Jack Hargreaves Park, located across from Rotary Park on the Bogan River, is named in honour of Olympic Gold Medallist, Jack Hargreaves. Born and raised in Nyngan, jack was part of the gold medal rowing team at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
This scenic area is perfect for picnics and enjoying nature. It features BBQ facilities and steps for closer access to the river. It's a great spot to admire the Bogan River's beauty and to watch skiing and recreational boats during the summer.

Rotary Park
Rotary Park, situated on the western side of the Bogan River off the Mitchell Highway, offers access to the scenic riverbanks and riverwalk pathways. The park includes a public boat ramp, a playground and a pontoon for enjoying scenic views or getting closer to the river for fishing as well as public toilets.

Davidson Park
Located in the main street of Nyngan, Davidson Park is a central green space with toilet facilities and plenty of seating and shade. It sits right next to the Nyngan Visitor Information Centre and Museum in Railway Square.

O'Reilly Park
Located on Cobar Street right next to the
pool, O’Reilly Park features a variety of new
playground equipment, toilets, seating,
a large lawned area, and BBQ facilities.
The Liberty Swing is wheelchair accessible.
An MLC key can be collected from the
Bogan Shire Council office during weekdays.

Lions Park
Located at the intersection
of Wambiana Street and
Dandaloo Street, this area
features a playground, an
enclosed cricket area, and
a netball hoop.
Moonagee Park
Located at the intersection
of Bogan Street and
Nyngan Street, this area
features a playground and
grassed oval space.
Nyngan Off-Leash Dog Park
Located at the corner of
Cannonbar and Terangion
Street, with access through
O’Reilly Park, this fenced
area allows dogs to roam
off-leash and stretch their
legs safely, away from traffic
hazards.
