Bogan Shire Council Active Transport Plan

What is the Active Transport Plan?

The Active Transport Plan is a strategic document that guides how Council will support and improve walking, cycling, and other non-car travel across the Bogan Shire. It focuses on making it easier and safer for people of all ages and abilities to move around their towns and access local destinations.

The plan identifies opportunities to improve footpaths, shared paths, crossings, signage, and connections between key places such as schools, shops, parks, and community facilities. It also helps Council prioritise projects, plan future works, and seek external funding.

By encouraging active transport, the plan aims to improve community health, reduce reliance on cars, support environmental sustainability, and enhance the liveability of Nyngan, Hermidale, Girilambone, and Coolabah.
