Road Safety
Bogan Shire Council is committed to improving road safety across the region. In partnership with Transport for NSW, Council delivers a range of programs and initiatives designed to address road safety issues at a local level.
Bogan Shire Council’s Engineering Department plays an active role alongside Transport for NSW (formerly Roads and Maritime Services) to deliver safer roads, improve roadside environments and work to reduce the incidence and severity of road crashes across the Shire. Council also works closely with local emergency responders, community groups and other stakeholders to monitor road safety issues and develop practical solutions that help reduce road incidents.
Council’s aim is to encourage safer behaviour from all road users, improve the safety of roads and surrounding environments, and reduce the number and severity of road crashes. Council also works to strengthen community awareness of road safety, promote safer vehicles and safer driving practices, and support coordinated planning and communication around road safety initiatives.
