Position Overview

The Cleaner position is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic environment for children and staff within the Early Learning Centre. This role includes a variety of cleaning tasks and the adherence to health and safety standards.
 
Key responsibilities include general cleaning, maintaining hygiene standards, reporting hazards, and ensuring the safe handling of cleaning products. The Cleaner works with the Children's Services team to promote a positive atmosphere for children and staff.
 
The Cleaner position is permanent part-time, 15 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Additional hours may be offered for relief coverage at other Council buildings from time to time.

Who We Are Looking For

We seek a motivated and detail-oriented individual who values cleanliness and safety in a childcare environment.

 

  • Proven ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Friendly, self-motivated team player who can work independently.
  • Strong organisational skills to manage competing priorities effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with team members and supervisors.
  • Knowledge of safe chemical use and storage practises.
  • Current National Police Check and Working With Children Check.
  • Valid driver’s licence (class C, P1, or P2).
  • Australian residency or a valid work visa.
Desirable qualifications include relevant experience in commercial cleaning, completion of safety training, and certification in Cleaning Operations and First Aid.

 

Salary & Benefits

This position offers remuneration set at Grade 3 of Council's salary system, ranging from $32 to $34.65 per hour, based on qualifications and experience.
