NYNGAN WATER TOWER ART

Please tell us what you would like to see painted on the water tower next to the Nyngan Bowling Club. Council has decided to use some grant funding to do a mural on the water tower and is looking for input from the community on what images should be included in the mural, as well as the style.

We’re happy to receive emails describing what you would like to see but please also include pictures / drawings / photos if you would like to. DRAFT BUDGET FOR 2024/2025 ON EXHIBITION

The. Bogan Shire Council draft operational budget for 2024/2025 is on exhibition until 13 June 2024. FLU VACCINES AT BOGAN SHIRE MEDICAL CENTRE

The Bogan Shire Medical Centre is currently providing the influenza vaccines for people aged six months and over. The flu vaccination is free for children under five; adults over 65; pregnant women; and for all people who identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander, or who have a chronic disease.

LARKIN OVAL NETBALL COURTS CLOSED

The two asphalt netball courts at Larkin Oval are currently closed for surfacing work until Friday 7 June, however the grass netball courts are still available for use.

BIG BOGAN STREET FESTIVAL

The Big Bogan Festival – Street Edition will take place on 28 September 2024 in Nyngan. Local vendors, hobbyists, and stall holders are invited to participate in the markets on the day.

BOGAN SHIRE YOUTH AND COMMUNITY CENTRE

The Bogan Shire Youth and Community Centre has drop-in sessions for those aged 12-24 from 3pm-6pm.

Regular activities this month include:

Rugby League Skills with Vinnie and James – Mondays. Journaling with Brooke – Wednesdays

Mentoring for Young Men – Thursdays Basketball with James – Fridays.

RATES AND WATER

Fourth quarter rate instalments were due for payment on 31 May. Please contact Council as soon as possible if you are having difficulties making your rates or water payments so arrangements may be entered into. If ratepayers do not make contact, they may be referred to a debt recovery agent and further fees and charges added to the account.

All overdue payments also incur an interest charge of eight percent, calculated daily. Council may also install flow restrictors to water meters for ratepayers with overdue water accounts. This is a last resort option.

Payments can be made in person by cash, cheque and eftpos at Council between 8am and 4pm Monday to Friday. Customers can also use bpay, direct debit, credit card, or deductions from Centrelink. Please contact Council if you wish to discuss any of these options further.

NEXT COUNCIL MEETING

The next ordinary meeting of Council will be held on Thursday 27 June 2024 commencing at 7pm. Members of the public are welcome to sit in the visitor gallery at Council meetings (with the exception of during confidential time). Council business papers, minutes and a recording of meetings are available on the website www.bogan.nsw.gov.au or as hard copy at the Nyngan Library.
