Public Notices

Winter is well and truly upon us with cold foggy mornings and plenty of sunshine, a perfect time of year for travellers to explore Bogan Shire. It is great to see many travellers in town over the last few weeks, making use of Councils free camping facilities and also supporting our local businesses.

A reminder from the May Council Meeting, that Council is reaching out to the Community for ideas of what you would like to see see painted on the water tower next to the Nyngan Bowling Club. Council is using grant funding for a mural on the water tower and is looking for input from the Community on what style of images should be included in the mural. Council intends to make a decision on what to put on the water tower at its July Council Meeting, based on community suggestions.  Please get your ideas to Council including pictures/drawings/photo, email to This email address is being protected from spambots. Planning is in full swing for the Big Bogan Street Festival which is being held on Saturday 28 September. Any local vendors or organisations that wish to be part of the day, please contact Council for further information. Watch this space for the announcements to come of the musical acts that will be performing on the day, also the family activities and events planned for the day. It is set be a great family day for our Community.

Extensions of the Bogan Shire Library are underway, through the State Library Infrastructure Grant 2022/23.  This will include the children’s section being made into a larger space and an enclosed extension at the rear of the building for use of library patrons and activities.  During this time the library will still be open as usual, however any disruptions to library services will be on the Library and Bogan Shire Council Facebook pages.

Winter School Holiday Break activities are being planned at the Bogan Shire Youth and Community Centre and the Library 8-19 July. These activities will include Mega Tag, Donut Making, Movie Afternoons, Nerf Battle, Amazing Race, Weaving and Dodge Ball Comp. Another great initiative that happens fortnightly at the Bogan Shire Youth and Community Centre is the Young Mens Mentoring Group, led by James Tuitahi on Thursday afternoons. To keep up to date with activities, head to the Bogan Shire Facebook page for updates on events.
