CHRISTMAS LIGHTS AND RURAL MAILBOX PRESENTATION
Thank you to the many residents who brought cheer to the Shire by decorating their homes, yards, mailboxes and front gates for Christmas.
For those who entered our Christmas Lights and Rural Mailbox competitions, the presentation of prizes will take place in Davidson Park, Nyngan on Monday 16 December at 11.30am.
BOGAN SHIRE LIBRARY
Baby Time: Friday 20 December at 10.00am. (Please note there will be no Baby Time Friday 13 December).
Story Time: Monday 16 and Tuesday 17 December (Christmas Party). 10.30am to 11.30am.
Library Craft: Thursday 19 December: Christmas Crafts, all ages, 10.00am-12.00pm with Catholic Care Playgroup
On Thursday 12 December the Library will be closed from 12.00pm.
Library Christmas Closures: Monday 23 December – Friday 3 January. The Library will then reopen Monday 6 January 2025.
BOGAN SHIRE YOUTH AND COMMUNITY CENTRE
Youth drop-in session program (ages 12 to 24 years old only) for Term 4, Monday to Friday 3pm to 6pm.
Christmas closures: BSYCC is closed for Christmas break from Monday 23 December and will re-open reopen Monday 6 January 2025.
Thursday 12 December: Closed.
School holiday drop-in times will be 1.30pm - 4.30pm

Shire administration offices: Closed from Monday 23 December 2024 and reopening on Monday 6 January 2025.
Bogan Shire Early Learning Centre, Bogan Shire Medical Centre: closed from Monday 23 December 2024 and re-opening on Monday 6 January 2025.
All Bogan Shire Council services on Thursday 12 December will be closed from 12.00pm.
RATES AND WATER
The second instalment notice for rates 2025 have been issued and were due for payment on 30 November 2024.
Please contact Council as soon as possible if you are having difficulties making your rates or water payments so arrangements may be entered into. If ratepayers do not make contact, they may be referred to a debt recovery agent and further fees and charges added to the account.
All overdue payments also incur an interest charge of 10.5 percent, calculated daily. Council may also install flow restrictors to water meters for ratepayers with overdue water accounts. This is a last resort option.
Payments can be made in person by cash, cheque and eftpos at Council between 8am and 4pm Monday to Friday. Customers can also use bpay, direct debit, credit card, or deductions from Centrelink. Please contact Council if you wish to discuss any of these options further.
NYNGAN WAR MEMORIAL POOL
The December opening hours are;
Mon - Friday: 6am-8am, 11am-8pm
Sat-Sun: 11am-7pm.
Entry fees are:
Season ticket for a single $110
Season ticket for a family $215
Single daily admission $3
Children 2 years and under (if swimming) $1
NEXT COUNCIL MEETING
The next ordinary meeting of Council will be held on Thursday 12 December 2024 at 10.30am. Members of the public are welcome to sit in the visitor gallery at Council meetings (with the exception of during confidential time). Council business papers, minutes and a recording of meetings are available on the website www.bogan.nsw.gov.au or as hard copy at the Nyngan Library.
