It was great to see some much needed rain to the region last week and a cool change to follow.
Mark Coulton visited Nyngan on Friday 14th February 2025 for his retiring farewell tour. Mr Coulton has represented our region for more than 17 years in the Parkes
Electorate. Mark has been a big part in a lot of our regions upgrades for example the Early Learning Centre and the Bogan Shire Medical Centre that Mark opened. Our Shire, towns and districts are in a lot better position due to his hard work and commitment, and we wish Mark and his wife Robyn all the best in their retirement.
Jamie Chaffy the new National Party candidate was also in town on the campaign trail. Jamie is both the former Mayor of Gunnedah and formerly the Chairperson of The Country Mayors Association, where he did a fantastic job in growing the
organisation. It was due to Jamie’s persistent lobbying that we finally started to see changes in the bail laws. If you do get the opportunity along his trail to say g’day to him, I’m sure he will be another great candidate for our region.
On Saturday 22nd of February 2025 Councillors will do a tour of the Bogan Shire for both new councillors and re-elected councillors. This is an opportunity for Councillors to be able to view the process of different operations and upgrades throughout the Shire. A few of these include, the Water Works, Town Water Supply, Water Storages on Tottenham Road, The Early Learning Centre and The Medical Centre .
