Bogan Shire Council is offering a Gap Year Program 2026, suited for local Shire students that are Year 12 school leavers. The twelve month opportunity may assist and help to gain experience for future employment, and also be beneficial for students who are undecided on a career path after school or simply seeking employment to save some money for a gap year before going off to further studies. School leavers can have a choice to work part time or fulltime, learn valuable employment skills, with hands on and knowledgeable experience, across multiple industries that may be considered as future career opportunities. For more information see the Bogan Shire Council office or register your interest on the Bogan Shire Council Facebook page.
After 50 years of racing Rodney Robb is hanging up his boots for a well-deserved rest from the racing industry. Rodney has been a stand-up bloke who has put Nyngan proudly on the map with his passion and commitment for his beloved horses, the Bogan Shire community and the racing industry. We have all in some way or another had a positive encounter with Rodney over the years and we all know too well his success wouldn’t be half of what it is without Wendy by his side. I wish them both the very best for their retirement and congratulate them both on a wonderful career in the racing industry.
