BOGAN SHIRE MEDICAL CENTRE - FREE NASAL SPRAY FLU VACCINES FOR KIDS (AGES 2–4)

Free nasal spray influenza vaccines are now available for children aged two to four years under the NSW Nasal Spray Influenza Vaccination Program. This needle-free vaccine is administered as a gentle spray into each nostril, offering a quick, painless, and stress-free alternative to traditional injections.

The initiative follows a significant rise in influenza cases among young children in NSW, including over 24,500 infections and increased hospital presentations and admissions in 2025.

Vaccination rates for children under 5 remain below target, and young children are at higher risk of serious illness from influenza. The nasal spray vaccine aims to improve uptake by removing common barriers such as needle anxiety.

Parents and carers are encouraged to contact the Bogan Shire Medical Centre on (02) 6832 1305 for more information or to book an appointment.
